About us

The Climate Impact Atlas Aruba shows the current and the projected climate effects for the island.

Why a Climate Impact Atlas?

The Climate Impact Atlas Aruba brings together key information about how climate change affects Aruba. Many actions are already being taken to deal with climate effects by governmental and non-governmental organizations, but the information is still limited and fragmented. This atlas is the result of shared efforts to collect all available knowledge in a central space. The aim is to support governments, residents, communities, and other stakeholders in understanding how climate change impacts their own area, so they can be better prepared. This helps build a climate-resilient Aruba in a just, inclusive, and equitable fashion.

Who are contributing to the development?

The Climate Impact Atlas Aruba is part of the National Climate Resilience Council (NCRC) of Aruba. The NCRC brings together people and organizations from the government, private sector, non-profits, universities, and international partners. The NCRC fosters and strengthens the national ability to cope with and adapt to a complex of climate impacts. The Climate Impact Atlas Aruba was developed by the NCRC and the Climate Adaptation Services (CAS) foundation. It was funded by the International Panel on Deltas, Coasts, and Islands (IPDC).
